The fifth annual Taiwan FINI 100 Award Ceremony and Investment Forum took place on September 2, celebrating Taiwan’s only corporate ranking assessed from the perspective of international institutional investors. Amid the reallocation of global capital and the rapid restructuring of AI supply chains, Taiwan’s technology sector continues to attract strong attention from international investors.

Edward H. Chow, Chairman of the Taiwan Institute of Directors (TWIOD), stated that the Taiwan FINI 100 evaluates companies based on market performance, fundamentals, and sustainability indicators. The initiative aims to connect high-quality companies with long-term investors while enhancing the international visibility of Taiwanese enterprises.

Brenda Hu, Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Asset Management Center (AAMC) Promotion Office, noted that many Taiwanese companies demonstrate strong operating performance but are not yet fully recognized by foreign investors. To enhance their valuations in the capital market, companies need to clearly communicate their strategies, capital allocation priorities, and long-term growth potential.

Shu-Nuan Lee, Deputy CEO of the Taipei Exchange (TPEx), noted that 29 companies in this year’s Taiwan FINI 100 are TPEx-listed companies, while seven of the Top 10 Growth Champions among the Taiwan Best-in-Class Companies also come from the TPEx market. This demonstrates that technological expertise, professional capabilities, and industrial resilience can also win the confidence of international investors.

Bing-Huei Lin, Chairman of the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC), emphasized that transparent, sound, and internationally aligned market systems provide an essential foundation for attracting long-term capital.

Major Reshuffle in the Taiwan FINI 100 as AI Investment Expands Across the Supply Chain

The combined market capitalization of this year’s Taiwan FINI 100 Companies reached approximately NT$65 trillion, accounting for around 63.7% of Taiwan’s total stock market capitalization.

This year’s list includes 66 new entrants, while only 12 companies have remained on the list for three consecutive years. All 12 are technology companies, reflecting how international investors are repositioning their portfolios for the AI era.

The AI infrastructure supply chain emerged as one of the defining themes of this year’s ranking. Thermal management companies including Asia Vital Components, Jentech Precision Industrial, and Auras Technology were selected, alongside IC substrate manufacturers Unimicron Technology and Kinsus Interconnect Technology, copper-clad laminate and materials companies Elite Material, Taiwan Union Technology, and Co-Tech Development, as well as power supply companies Delta Electronics and Lite-On Technology.

From thermal management and substrates to materials and power systems, foreign investors have increased their exposure across multiple critical segments. This suggests that investment strategies are shifting from selecting individual companies toward broader, systematic allocation across the AI infrastructure value chain.

Memory-related companies also moved higher in the rankings, while niche technology companies continued to attract international investors by securing technologies and market positions that are difficult to replace.

The Next Wave of Taiwanese Companies Poised to Reach NT$100 Billion in Market Value

This year, 125 Taiwan Best-in-Class Companies were selected based on growth and profitability performance comparable to that of larger listed companies. Their average market capitalization was approximately NT$8.7 billion, with 93 new entrants this year.

The Taiwan Institute of Directors noted that mid-cap companies are breaking through growth constraints by deepening their technological capabilities, moving toward higher-value products and services, expanding overseas, and pursuing mergers and acquisitions.

Which of these promising companies will eventually surpass NT$100 billion in market capitalization will be an important trend to watch in the years ahead.

In addition to the Taiwan FINI 100 Companies, this year’s awards also recognized the Taiwan FINI FIG 10 Companies, the Taiwan Capital Market Rising Stars 10, and the Taiwan Best-in-Class Companies, highlighting the diverse growth trajectories of Taiwanese enterprises—from large industry leaders to emerging mid-cap companies.

Multinational Companies Continue to Invest in Taiwan as Its Industrial Ecosystem Remains Difficult to Replicate

The first panel of the Foreign Investment Forum, “Why We Stay: How Global Corporations Are Deepening Their Roots in Taiwan,” brought together executives from Merck Electronics, BASF Taiwan, and Novo Nordisk Taiwan.

Dr. Surésh Rajaraman, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Merck Electronics, highlighted Taiwan’s critical role in advanced semiconductor manufacturing and packaging. Merck has invested more than €500 million in Kaohsiung, demonstrating its confidence in Taiwan’s long-term development.

The three panelists agreed that one of the main reasons multinational companies continue to invest in Taiwan is the importance of remaining close to customers and markets. Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem, talent pool, and extensive manufacturing experience are difficult to replicate elsewhere.

Overall, the panelists agreed that the opportunities associated with investing in Taiwan significantly outweigh the risks.

Foreign Investors Highlight Three Priorities: IR, Internationalization, and Governance

The second panel, “The Alpha Growth Path for Mid-Cap Enterprises: Resilience & Value Transformation,” focused on how Taiwanese companies can become globally investable businesses.

Marvin Chen, Senior Asia Equity Strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence, recommended strengthening English-language information disclosure and investor relations capabilities.

Tiffany Hsiao, Portfolio Manager at Matthews Asia, highlighted engineering talent, commitment to customers, and a comprehensive industrial supply chain as key advantages supporting Taiwanese companies as they expand globally.

Tina Chang, Associate Director at Fidelity International, emphasized that international investors pay close attention to whether management teams and shareholders have aligned interests, as well as whether boards of directors and risk management mechanisms function effectively.

The Taiwan Institute of Directors stated that the Taiwan FINI 100 is more than an awards ceremony—it is also a platform for dialogue between Taiwanese companies and international capital.

As Taiwan attracts renewed interest from global investors, companies need to go beyond simply gaining visibility. They must also build understanding and trust. Through stronger governance, the capacity for sustained growth, and effective international communication, Taiwan’s leading companies can build lasting relationships with global investors.
